Gates
Gates offers recreational and entertainment activities for all ages, including senior citizens. Gates boasts one of the largest senior citizen populations in the country. Tinseltown USA, a 16-screen movieplex, has become an entertainment landmark.  

Greece
Greece is named in honor of the people of Greece who were fighting for freedom from Turkish rule. This is Monroe County's largest town. It is a diverse community, offering everything from sprawling shopping malls to beaches on Lake Ontario. With 1.7 million square feet of retail space, the Mall at Greece Ridge is the largest shopping center in town, with six department stores and two hundred specialty shops. Almost 92,000 people live in the Town of Greece. Employment opportunities are plentiful with several large corporations located nearby such as Eastman Kodak, IBM and Bausch & Lomb. Its close proximity to Rochester gives easy access to great cultural events.  

Greece borders Lake Ontario with sandy beaches on 8 miles of shoreline. Local ponds and wetlands support diverse wildlife. The Town of Greece boasts 18 parks for residents’ enjoyment. Those who prefer the quiet and wide-open spaces can find that here at places like the Braddock Bay Park. Greece Canal Park is also located along the historic Barge Canal and offers trails for hiking, nature study, camping and cross-country skiing. 

Hamlin
Hamlin features a friendly, country atmosphere. It has been growing in recent years, but it still maintains its rural roots, with fruit farms and a lakefront setting. In the summer, Hamlin Beach State Park beckons beach-lovers, campers and picnickers. In the winter, the park offers opportunities for cross-country skiing. Hamlin Beach State Park is convenient to many area attractions via the scenic Lake Ontario State Parkway and nearby historic Ridge Road.  

Henrietta
Henrietta has one of the busiest commercial strips of any of Monroe County's nineteen towns. The bustling area around the Marketplace mall has several national retail stores, movie theaters and restaurants. Town officials credit the town's proximity to interstates and highways for its commercial development, but there are also some delightful open spaces. 

Hilton
The Village of Hilton, within the Town of Parma, has almost 6,000 residents. It calls itself “The Little Village with a Big Heart”. Safe, friendly neighborhoods with easy access to Rochester make Hilton an attractive place for families, businesspersons, and retirees. Hilton has great water sport and recreational opportunities as it borders Lake Ontario. The Hilton-Parma Recreation Department offers a full array of educational and recreational programs and events for all ages including swimming, horseback riding and camps for kids. The Parma Museum continues to preserve the rich history of Hilton. 

Honeoye Falls
Honeoye Falls is truly a charming village that is settled on the banks of Honeoye Creek. It is located within the Town of Mendon, about 12 miles southeast of Rochester. The population is estimated to be just over 2,600 people. The Village of Honeoye Falls is the “downtown” business district for the Town of Mendon and is home to Mendon’s historic Town Hall.  

As with so many communities in the area, Honeoye Falls has a rich history beginning with the native tribes that inhabited the area. The village was founded in 1791. Many charming, historic buildings stand today. The village’s rich history is preserved at The Honeoye Falls-Town of Mendon Historical Society Museum. To this day, the chiming of the Village Hall bell on the hour reminds us of its past.  

Honeoye Falls is home to the beautiful Mendon Ponds Park, a National Natural Historic Park with unique ecosystems and 30 miles of trails. The park has six lodges, Sharon’s Sensory Garden and several recreational areas. Fishing, boating, and skiing opportunities are plentiful in the area. 

Irondequoit
Irondequoit is one of Rochester's oldest suburbs. Irondequoit is an Iroquois word that means “where the land and waters meet”. Such a perfect name for Irondequoit, home to 3 bodies of water. Residents often refer to it as a peninsula because the town is bordered by the Genesee River on the west, Irondequoit Bay on the east, and Lake Ontario to the north.  

Irondequoit is a family-oriented community that has easy access to great shopping, dining and cultural events as well as being a haven for water sport enthusiasts. The population is over 51,000 people. Modestly priced homes are a big plus in Irondequoit. The O’Rorke Bridge is currently being constructed to replace the 83 year old Stutson Street lift bridge over the Genesee River. There is now a ferry that travels from Irondequoit to Toronto 

There are excellent golf courses in the area. Irondequoit Bay Park West is located along the southwestern shoreline of Irondequoit and features 2000 feet of bay frontage, fishing, and hiking. The town is home to Seabreeze Park, one of the oldest family-owned amusement parks in the country. 

Mendon
Mendon is a lovely, rural community with a population of over 8,400 people. The town is also home to some of the most picturesque views in the county. Rolling hills and farms still make up the scenery and agriculture continues to be one of Mendon’s strengths today. Mendon’s elevation at its highest point is 1,028 feet, the highest in the county. 

Mendon was officially organized in 1813. Many quaint historical buildings still grace the town. The town’s rich history is preserved at The Honeoye Falls-Town of Mendon Historical Society Museum  

Honeoye Falls, in Mendon, is home to the beautiful Mendon Ponds Park, a National Natural Historic Park with unique ecosystems and 30 miles of trails. Mendon Ponds Park covers about 1,950 acres. Lehigh Valley Trail Park traverses the town and provides recreation and a connection to the Genesee Greenway Trail to the west and the Auburn Trail in Victor to the east –great for hiking, bicycling or cross-country skiing.  

Ogden
The Town of Ogden is a beautiful rural, historic town located in the picturesque Genesee Valley of western New York. Ogden is given special old-time charm both from the Erie Canal, and Spencerport, its village. Its population is approximately 18,500 people. Both rural areas with farms and community neighborhoods characterize Ogden. Ogden boasts a quiet, country life-style with easy access to all the amenities of the city.  

Ogden residents have access to a public boat launch on the Erie Canal and a senior community center. The Village of Spencerport is located within the Town of Ogden and is the downtown business district of the town. Springdale Farm, in Ogden, is an agricultural education facility open to the public and welcomes over 40,000 visitors every year. Northampton Park, in the Towns of Sweden and Ogden, offers trails for hiking, horseback riding and cross country skiing as well as lodges and playgrounds.
